Jim Seymour

Family and Neighborhood Impact Project Director, Community Business and Education Leaders Collaborative

Known for his passion, vision and relentless pursuit of change to empower vulnerable children, adults and families, Mr. Seymour leads the Family and Neighborhood Impact project of the Salem-Keizer Community Business and Education Leaders Collaborative.

Jim served as executive director of Catholic Community Services of the Mid-Willamette Valley and Central Coast (CCS) from 1983 to 2020. During his tenure, CCS  grew from three small programs employing 20 staff members and serving 200 vulnerable children and their families each year to an organization providing sixteen programs, employing  more than 300 community members and serving  5000 vulnerable children, youth, adults and their families annually.

During that time, Jim also led Catholic Community Services Foundation (CCSF). CCSF provides high quality affordable housing, advocates for public policy that supports the populations served by CCS and develops funding to assure that Catholic Community Services of the Mid-Willamette Valley and Central Coast remains financially sustainable into the future.

A recognized leader of social services innovation, Jim holds a master’s degree in public administration from Lewis and Clark College. He currently serves on the Building Community Resilience Collaborative at George Washington University. He served on the Harvard University Frontiers of Innovation Site Advisory Council and is the chairperson of the Marion County Early Learning Hub board of directors. He has also served on numerous other national, state and local boards and committees.
